Where were the so-called friends when I was down and out?

I was just the Homie.

Where were the friends during the struggles, trials, and tribulations?

I was just the Homie.

When I did not have a direction, and I was just trying to find myself as a man.

I was just the Homie.

When I was in searched for love.

I was just the Homie.

When I was broke with no money and not appealing in their eyes.

I was just the Homie.

When I was a lonely man with no one, they did not want me.

I was just the Homie.

It was ok to talk to me, because I gave good laugh.

I was just the Homie.

Now Life has changed for me, after all the hard work.

I am a man with direction now.

I am a productive man that has achieved many of my dreams.

I am a family man with a beautiful wife and child.

Do you still see me as just the Homie or a Homie that can be used?
